As a postdoctoral associate at the University of Sussex, I am currently investigating the molecular events that alter the Epstein-Barr virus and host gene expression during lytic reactivation of the virus. We used ChIP-seq to identify the binding sites for the viral transcription factor,Zta across the EBV and human genome. The dynamic interaction of Zta to viral promoters has been investigated and is currently submitted for publication. I hope to use the UCSC genome browser to identify the human targets for Zta and validate them for publication.
